Six Essential Oils Every Home Should Have

I have been using essential oils since I was a teenager to combat all different things from respiratory health to stress management or just all over wellbeing. It is so easy to feel lost if you’re not familiar with essential oils though. So, I’m going to break them down for you. How I use them and the benefits of using essential oils.



Lets Start with one of my favourites Ravintsara Essential Oil you’ve probably never heard of it but ravintsara packs a powerful punch.

How to use

Spanish Marjoram essential oil is what I like to call the Queen of essential oils because every woman should have this in her collection!

  • Bruises

  • Gastrointestinal Disorders

How to use

Topical: Apply it topically to improve skin disorders like athlete's foot, cuts and sores

Use it in massages to treat sprains and stiff joints

Aromatic: Add it in baths and vaporisers to relieve nervous disorders and stress-related issues

However, I personally do not advise taking Spanish marjoram oil or any essential oil, internally without your doctor's recommendation.



Organic Lavender Oil is defiantly an all rounder oil and this was my first essential oil. So, if you don’t have lavender oil, do you even essential oil?? Jokes but if you don’t have lavender you’ll need it stat!

Petitgrain essential oil is such a pretty smell it is becoming one of my favourite to diffuse.

Sandalwood Essential Oil is my most used to fragrance my house I absolutly love this scent. Its such a grounding spiritual scent it just brings me so much peace. If you’re a yogi or meditator you need to be defusing this throughout your practice.

Orange Essential Oil is a great staple to have around the house are it is not only a great scent to have but also great for home made cleaning products!

Orange Essential Oil Uses

  • Colds

  • Constipation

  • Dull Skin

  • Cleaning

  • Flatulence

  • Flu

  • Gums

  • Mouth

  • Slow Digestion

  • Stress

Topical: Dilute with a carrier oil (coconut, almond or olive oil) and apply to desired area as needed. Also can be applied directly to affected area.

Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes 3-4 times daily (2hrs max) 2-3 drops

Home use: Spray cleaner: pour 500ml of water into a spray bottle, then add 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda and 7 drops of orange oil.
